The Holy Quran brings countless blessings to mankind. We ought to consider ourselves lucky that the divine message of Allah Almighty has been brought down upon us from the heavens. This book is highly beneficial for us provided we read it well and act upon the knowledge given to us in it. We shall now discuss a few of the great blessings in the form of Quran:
Guidance
The Holy Quran is a great source of guidance for mankind. It outlines ways of living for any aspects of life. If we follow it correctly, we can lead a life leading to great success in this world and the one hereafter. It makes us aware of the good and bad actions along with the consequences for each. Allah tells us that this life is only mandatory and everything in it is destined to end one day and that we ought to prepare for the life that awaits us after our deaths. A few instances of guidance to Muslims are:
“Take what is given freely, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.”
(The Quran 7:199)
“And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,” (The Quran 25:63)
Upon careful observation of these ayahs (verses), we can see the important guidance Allah is giving us. For instance, Allah guides us how to deal with the ignorant when they address us harshly. Hence, ought to read surahs of the Quran or at least the important ones like surah yasin with translation for better understanding of Allah’s message.
Great Rewards
Mankind was in heaven after its creation; however it was thrown down into earth for disobeying Allah, owing to the tricks of satan and mankind’s own irresponsibility as well. In this earth, we are given a chance to earn back our place in Jannah (heaven). This can be done earning as much sawab (reward) as we can. The recitation or reading of Quran is one of the best ways to do so. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) has explained this:
“He who reads one letter of the Quran it (becomes) for him a good deed, and a single good deed is rewarded (by Allah) by ten times the like thereof. I am not saying that Alif-Lam-Mim is (just) one word, but that Alif is a (separate) letter (word), Lam is a (separate) letter (word), and Mim is a (separate) letter (word).” (Tirmidhi)
Thus, we ought to use this to the best of our advantage by reading or reciting the Holy Quran as much as we can and improve our chances of entering Jannah.
Conclusion
The Holy Quran is the greatest book on earth. It has the unique attribute of originality and the quality of being able to be used in any century. Its knowledge and guidance can never be outdated. We have another great advantage of it being authentic till this day. It’s a great miracle of Allah and He Himself has taken responsibility of its protection. This is another reason for us to be thankful to Him for this great guidance and its availability in its original form till this day.
