The ignorant ones were given numerous chances to abandon their evil doings but they were deaf and dumb to the divine teachings of Quran. Each time when Allah sent His apostles towards them to revert them towards righteousness they declined the teachings and prefer worldly lavishness to the eternal life of hereafter.
For the heretic tribes a crack jolted them, a deafening sound enough to burst their eardrums and perished them into ashes. Endless rattling of earth, violent commotion, skin burning lava, and wrath of Allah engulfed them within blink of an eye. They had been given many chances to apologize but they were in whim that no one could flog them towards painful death. The stories of these clans in Quran are the awakening anecdotes for the believers to take lessons from them. Quran says:
“That is from the news of the cities, which We relate to you; of them, some are [still] standing and some are [as] a harvest [mowed down]. And We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And they were not availed at all by their gods which they invoked other than Allah when there came the command of your Lord. And they did not increase them in other than ruin.” [11:100-101]
Story of Yaseen:
The celestial Surah Yaseen with Urdu Translation encompasses the story of Antioch in which the people were doomed because of their fluke beliefs. Towards them Allah sent His Prophets to guide them and enlighten their hearts with His teachings. They stoned the believer to death who asked them to follow the footsteps of Apostles in order to embrace blessings of Allah but they called him and the Prophets bad omen and liars. His efforts were considered of high intentions by lord and hence has blessed with paradise. In the Surah Allah explains the story as:
“And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so. It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished.” [36: 28-29]
Individual punishment:
Apart from the entire cities and tribes there are certain individuals who were destroyed and made sign of Allah’s wrath entailing Pharaoh and the children of Israel, Hazrta Nuh (As) son and wife and Qarun. The stories regarding their wreckage has not mentioned in Quran because time and date is not of prime importance, significance lies in avoiding the sins that they have committed.
Mercy is His attribute hence Plead Forgiveness:
The dominant attribute of Allah is Rahman o Raheem that makes Him sublime and merciful to ignore the deeds when the believers plead in front of Him. While committing sins the people should keep in Mind that Allah is that supreme deity who can cause the destruction anytime hence one should be in repentance for their committed deeds. Avoid being proud and arrogance because thee essence of all those lessons indicates the idolaters being stubborn and arrogant that turns them into ashes. Never forget His blessings and thank Him for whatever He has granted you.
Surmising, those perished nations had everything that a nation could have yet are gone stories similarly today we are in whims that we are the best nations, powerful giants but when He would order “Kun Fayukun” then the creaking sound will shattered all into dust and there would be utter silence except Him the Exalted Lord. Remember Allah and take lessons from these tales before it is too late to repent on gross sins.
“O mankind, your injustice is only against yourselves, [being merely] the enjoyment of worldly life. Then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do.” [10:23]
